Leah

Her story is found in Genesis, starting in Chapter 29. She is also mentioned in
Ruth 4:11.

Leah was the one that started the whole journey for the program "Pretty Is as Pretty Does." This is such an important story, because it gives us a glimpse of the third patriarch, Jacob. We also learn that it is from Leah, Rachael and their two handmaids that the twelve tribes of Israel will come. But it wasn't all that big historical information that interested me. It was the thought of Leah standing in the shadow of her sister's beauty and her obsession - wanting Jacob to love her. And consequently, she seemed to miss all the blessings that God had bestowed on her life.

Leah

It must have been very painful for Leah. She was never going to be able to compete with her sister's beauty. Further, Jacob wasn't going to love her. But she did have gifts, and blessings. God blessed her with seven children of her own, and two through her handmaid, Zilpah.

Leah is a wonderful story about God's blessings in our lives, even when things are going according to our plan.
